Nicholas C. Stewart
Nicholas C. Stewart is Counsel at Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP. A deal facilitator, he provides counsel on planning and executing mergers and acquisitions, and private equity and venture financings, with experience in industries ranging from technology, health care and advanced manufacturing to insurance, telecommunications and cannabis. Nick’s understanding of the operational issues facing businesses is informed by his work outside of the law firm. Nick is a member of the Baltimore County Workforce Development Board, where he works with businesses, the community, and education and labor leaders to provide policy guidance and oversight for the county’s workforce development system.
Nick also recently served three and a half years as a member of the Baltimore County Board of Education, which is the 25th largest school system in the nation with a $1.8 billion budget. He worked on closing the achievement gap, advocating for new schools and renovations in underserved communities, and standing up a dashboard of key metrics to better evaluate performance. Prior to joining Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr, Nick was a judicial clerk for Judge Glenn T. Harrell, Jr. on the Maryland Court of Appeals, Maryland’s highest court. He was also a speechwriter for Maryland Gov. Martin J. O’Malley, where he wrote hundreds of speeches, including the governor’s State of the State Address.
